Description
This is a blacksmith's workshop, likely dating to around 1880 and designed by Sir Ernest George and T.Vaughan. It is located immediately north of the former Home Farm, north-west of Rousdon, on the Rousdon Estate. The building is small and square, two stories high, constructed of stone with the first floor covered in tile. It has a band of leaded pane windows set under the eaves of a pyramidal tile roof, topped with a wrought iron finial. An adjoining outbuilding to the east has a half-hipped tiled roof and the two buildings are connected by a short section of stone wall. The smithy is the only part of the original Home Farm buildings that remains unchanged; the rest were situated immediately to the south.
