Description

This is a late 18th century red brick terrace, comprising numbers 1 to 5, in Budleigh Salterton. The buildings have slate roofs hidden behind a parapet with a decorative brick cornice. They are two storeys high with a basement. Each house features a three-storey brick bow with tripartite sash windows incorporating glazing bars. The doorcases are pilastered, topped with broken pediments, and have semi-circular fanlights with tracery, panelled reveals, and panelled doors. A flight of stone steps with an iron balustrade leads to the front doors, and iron railings enclose the basement area. Number 1 has a doorway recessed within a semi-circular arch, featuring a fanlight and sash window above. The parapets of numbers 1 and 2 have been rebuilt.
