Description

Jackmoor Cottage is a late 17th-century cottage, potentially with an earlier core. It is constructed of whitewashed cob on a stone plinth, and has a thatched roof with gabled ends and an external end stack. Originally a single-room building, it was extended early on at the stack end, where original rafters are visible. The cottage is two storeys high, with an almost symmetrical two-window front. The front features a door now centrally placed, alongside four windows with 19th and 20th-century eight-pane casements, arranged irregularly towards the stack end. A small firewindow is present to the right of the stack. Inside, the fireplace has a projecting wooden lintel decorated with simple floral motifs. A 20th-century single-storey lean-to extension has been added to the rear.
