Description

Thorn Farmhouse is a 2-storey building located in Salcombe Regis, with origins possibly dating back to the 15th or 16th century. The structure is made of stone rubble with a plastered front and features a thatched roof. It has a projecting wing at both the front and rear, where stone quoins can be seen, along with a small round-headed window in the attic made from a single stone. The farmhouse originally had some stone mullioned windows, but the remaining windows are 19th-century wooden casements. On the north side, there is a stone chimney and a stone gable. Inside, one ground floor room is notable for its unusual moulded and enriched beams. Historically, a manor court was held at this location from an early date.
