Description
Lower East Horner Farm House is a farmhouse dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is constructed of stone rubble and features a thatched roof with half-hipped and gabled ends. The building has two storeys and a five-window range, with small modern casements that include glazing bars. There is an off-centre plank door leading to a cross passage. A stone chimney stack is located at one gable end, while a brick ridge stack is also present. At the rear, there is a modern porch that incorporates a reused heavy timber arched door frame and door. Inside, the house features jointed cruck trusses and fireplaces with stopped chamfer ceiling beams. The cross passage includes a short section of plank and muntin screen, and there are additional chamfered ceiling beams throughout.
