Description
These pigsties, located approximately 8 metres north-east of Stantaway Farmhouse, date from the late 19th century. They are constructed of stone rubble with brick quoins and feature a weather-boarded front topped by a pantile roof. The structure consists of a low block containing three pigsties that face north-west into the farmyard. The front has three original plank doors with plain strap hinges and catches. Above the doors, there is a ventilator grille made of horizontal timbers. The roof is a lean-to design that rests against the boundary wall, supported by trusses based on king post forms. These pigsties are part of a group of well-preserved farm buildings that enclose the farmyard behind Stantaway Farmhouse, contributing to the attractive collection of listed buildings along Otterton Fore Street.
