Description
Symes Cottage is an 18th-century cottage built with cob and a stone plinth, featuring a rendered exterior and a hipped thatched roof. It has a right-hand external stack. The front of the cottage is symmetrical with a two-window range, showcasing late 18th-century or early 19th-century two-light sash windows above, each with six panes per light. There are two sash windows at the ground floor, positioned one on either side of a 20th-century porch. Additionally, there is a single two-light casement window from the 19th century facing the roadside. A 20th-century extension is located at the left-hand end of the cottage. Inside, the kitchen includes a chamfered beam, a large fireplace with a chamfered timber lintel, and a back oven.
