Description
Metcombe Barton Farmhouse is a building from the 18th century or early 19th century. It is two storeys high and constructed of stucco that is lined and painted. The roof is hipped and covered with slate. The front features three sash windows with glazing bars; the two outer windows have three lights each. The entrance has a doorcase with fluted pilasters and a rounded-headed doorway, although the pediment is now missing. It includes a keystone, a radial-bar fanlight, and a door with six fielded panels. At the rear, there is a wing that has casement windows, one of which retains old moulded mullions and frame. This part of the house is likely from the 17th century but has undergone significant alterations.
