Description

Hall's Farmhouse is an early 17th or earlier building, with later alterations. It is a two-storey structure built of roughcast cob, with a thatched roof. The east end has been repaired using brick. There are four semi-dormer windows, featuring casement windows with glazing bars. Brick buttresses are located at the flanks of the building. The entrance has a plain surround framing a later door. The interior features a through passage and massive, roughly hewn beams with very wide chamfers. It also contains wide fireplaces with stop-chamfered beams, hewn principals and purlins, ledged doors with strap hinges, and a curved stairwell. A notable feature of the west portion are carved, moulded stops to the chamfered beams. The farmhouse is listed for its outstanding quality of construction.
