Description

The buildings at 2 and 4 Montpellier Road are a pair, constructed in the mid to later 19th century. They are built as a single building, with a colourwashed stucco facade enhanced by quoins. The building has wide eaves and a hipped corrugated roof with red ridge tiles. It is two storeys high, with three windows to the front, featuring sash windows with glazing bars. A heavy moulded cornice sits above the ground floor. The central doorway is round arched and has panelled reveals, a plain round fanlight, and pilasters adorned with masks. These pilasters extend upwards to link with the cornice. The side facade facing Albion Street includes a porch with rusticated treatment and three windows, some of which are blank. A two-storey, single-windowed wing has been added to the rear.
