Description
The boundary walls located approximately 35 metres north and 40 metres east of Place Court are likely from the 18th century. They are primarily constructed of cob on rubble footings, topped with thatch coping. Some short sections have been rebuilt using local stone rubble, and much of the inner side of the northern wall is faced with brick. These tall walls enclose the grounds of Place Court and feature a doorway on each side. They are a significant feature of Colaton Raleigh village, especially the northern wall, which runs alongside the road for about 85 metres.
