Description
This tomb chest, located 4 metres north of the north transept of the Parish Church, dates from 1673 and is made of stone. It features a memorial epitaph that is almost completely worn away, set on a chamfered slab which rests on a deeply moulded cornice. The sides of the chest are panelled with three bays, each adorned with a heart-shaped shield, and there is one bay at each end that also contains a shield. Each bay is separated by a double roll mould pilaster. A chamfered plinth is visible along one side only. This tomb chest is a notable example of the work from a local school of craftsmanship.
