Description
These railings, located approximately 2.5 metres west of Nos. 2-10 (even) High Street in East Budleigh, date from the late 19th century. They are made of cast iron by the Kerslake Foundry of Exeter. The railings run along the eastern side of the road, separating it from the Budleigh Stream that flows alongside. The standards are octagonal in shape, tapering downwards, and feature a broad bend that supports circular rails and narrower bands above and below, topped with round caps. Some of the railings display the founder's legend. These distinctive railings are a charming addition to High Street.
