Description

The South Western Electricity Board building, located at 44 The Strand, dates from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It features a roughcast rendered facade and a tiled roof with a bracketed eaves cornice. The building stands three storeys tall and has two sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has an altered early 19th-century shop front that retains Ionic pilasters flanking the south-western side door and modillion cornices. There is a centrally recessed shop door and a side door, both with plain rectangular fanlights.
