Description
This is an 18th or early 19th century stucco terrace, comprising eight houses numbered 1 to 8 Summerland Street, located off New Street. The houses are two storeys with attics, originally designed with a two-window facade, although number 1 has three windows. Front gardens are present. Trellis porches were originally placed over the coupled doorways, though these have been largely altered. Number 8, "The Firs," features a two-storey, three-window front on its west-facing return side. This side also incorporates a heavy plaster door surround, a fanlight, cast iron gates, and piers leading to New Street. The roofs are slate, with half-hipped ends. The interior of number 3 retains panelled window shutters, a close string staircase with square balusters and column newels, an attic with hewn purlins, and 11-inch floorboards. Originally, the terrace was associated with the All Hallows Trust. Numbers 1 to 8 are grouped together for their group value.
