Description
No. 62 High Street is a good early 18th-century building that stands three stories tall with a five-window red brick front. It features a rendered plinth, stone quoins, and keystones, along with a first-floor band and an eaves cornice. The building has three dormers with original wooden casements and sash windows that have exposed frames and glazing bars. The entrance is marked by a Tuscan doorcase with a bracketed open pediment, leading to a six-panel door topped with an arched radial-bar fanlight. To the left, there is a two-story wing with a steep slate roof, an eaves band, and stippled plaster on the first floor, which has two sash windows with exposed frames and glazing bars. The ground floor features a garage front with a 19th-century wooden case and an altered six-panel door with a fanlight on the right. Nos. 38 to 62 (even) form a group.
