Description
These are 17th-century or earlier cottages located on the west side of New Street. They are two storeys high, with plastered walls and a thatched roof. The cottages consist of three two-storey splayed bays, most of which retain their original leaded casement windows. Flat hoods are supported by shaped brackets over the doorways. The interior features a four-panel door, remnants of hinges, wide boarded doors with wrought hinges fixed to lugs, two-panel doors on the first floor, and a massive chamfered roof principal. These cottages are notable as some of the oldest examples of their type in the town.
