Description
Elford Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around the 16th century. It is constructed from colour-washed stone rubble and features an asbestos slate roof with gabled and half-hipped ends. The building has two storeys and a four-window range, with modern casements that include glazing bars. There is a plank door with a modern porch located off-centre beside a large external chimney stack, which has been rebuilt at the top in brick and includes a semi-circular oven at its base. A small brick chimney stack is present at the gable end. The end and rear walls are rendered, and there is a large modern wing at the rear.
Inside, the farmhouse features a plank and muntin screen, a coffered ceiling with heavy moulded beams, and a fireplace with chamfered stone jambs and a chamfered timber bressummer. It is noted that the roof structure is said to have been entirely replaced.
