Description
This building is a linhay or piggery located approximately 200 meters west of Escot, dating from the mid-19th century. The south end was rebuilt after a collapse in 1987. It is constructed of English bond red brick and features a slate roof. The linhay has an L-plan layout and has been adapted for use as fish tanks and a shop. The main range, which consists of 11 bays, faces the coach house and stables to the east. It includes a two-tier arcade of round-headed arches, with the upper stage serving as the tallet or feed loft. A block projects forward from the right end, containing a bay similar to the main range, followed by the shop, which was created by adapting another agricultural building. The interior showcases plain carpentry detail. This linhay is part of a notable group of outbuildings situated in the landscaped park near Escot.
