Description

Quince Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the 17th century. It is constructed of rubble stone with a thatched roof, featuring brick and limestone stacks and coped verges. The layout is an L-shape, with the main entrance at the rear. The cottage is single-storied with an attic, and has three windows facing the front.

The rear wing has a planked door and 2-light casement windows. The original 17th-century range on the left side has a 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement. The range parallel to the road incorporates 3-light and 2-light casement windows, and an attic dormer with a 2-light casement. The rear of this range includes a blocked doorway and 2-light and 3-light casement windows. A 20th-century oriel window is present on the left return side at first-floor level. The interior was inaccessible at the time of survey in January 1986.
