Description

Nos. 19 to 21 Long Street comprise three buildings refronted in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with No. 19 having a three-storey stucco facade, while Nos. 20 and 21 are two-storey structures. No. 19 features a small string course at first-floor level and a modern pantile roof. It has two windows to the upper floors, with architrave surrounds on the second floor, and thin flanking pilasters and a board cornice on the first floor. The ground-floor windows have similar surrounds, and the first- and ground-floor windows are 4 panes wide. A six-panelled, glazed door is situated to the right, topped by an architrave, cut scroll brackets, and a flat-moulded hood with a panelled soffit.

No. 20 is a late 18th-century refronting of an earlier 16th to 17th century timber-framed building. It has a cement-rendered facade on a projecting plinth, with a moulded wood string course above the first-floor windows. The roof is hipped and covered in pantiles. The upper-floor windows are coupled sash windows with architrave frames, and the ground floor has two windows and a central six-panelled door recessed slightly and topped by a flat-moulded hood on cut brackets. The ground-floor windows contain five panes each.

No. 21, also refronted in the 18th century, has a cement-rendered facade and a modern pantile roof with a central hipped dormer containing a small sash window. It has two windows on the upper floor, each with five panes by four, with architrave surrounds and Venetian shutters on the ground floor. A flush six-panelled door with glazed top panels, panelled pilasters, and a doorhead sits beneath a moulded stone hood on cut stone brackets.

Nos. 8 to 30 Long Street form a group.
