Description
The Rectory is an 18th-century building of red brick on a stuccoed plinth, finished with a moulded stone capping. It is two storeys tall with an attic. Chamfered stone quoins are visible, and a moulded stone string runs along the first-floor level. The building has a moulded wood eaves cornice and a hipped roof that was originally stone-tiled but is now covered in pantiles. Brick chimneys flank the roof. Three modern dormers have been added to the roof space.
The front facade features five tall windows with slightly recessed architrave frames and intact glazing bars on the first floor, and four similar windows on the ground floor. The central door is made of six fielded panels and is set within a stone architrave surround, beneath a stone Doric porch with two columns, wall pilasters, an entablature with a dentil cornice, and a balustrade above. To the left-hand side is a two-storey extension, built to the same design, with one window on each floor.
The interior features sashes. The building forms a group with numbers 31 to 42 on Long Street.
