Description

No. 42 Long Street is an early 19th century narrow-fronted house located at the corner of a lane leading to The Ark. The building has three storeys and is rendered and painted. It features a projecting plinth and a low-pitched hipped slate roof with an eaves band. There is one window on each floor, which are recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, cambered heads, and block sills. The house has two cellar grilles and an entrance on the south side leading to the lane. On the first floor, there is one window with intact glazing bars. The entrance has a modern door and is covered by a tent hood supported on iron brackets. To the west, there is a late 19th century single-storey extension made of painted brick. Nos. 31 to 42 Long Street form a group.
