Description
No. 17, St Mary Street is an early 19th-century house constructed of limestone ashlar with a plain tile roof and an ashlar stack to the left of the centre. It has a double-depth plan. The exterior features three storeys and a basement, with a three-window front. Architectural details include a cornice, parapet, and plinth. The second floor has four-pane sash windows; the first floor has eight-pane sashes; and the ground floor to the left features two six-pane tripartite windows. To the right of the ground floor is a roll-edged semicircular arch leading to a carriage entrance with full-height double doors to the rear. The house entrance is a six-panel door with glazed upper panels and a cast-iron wreath knocker located towards the rear of the arch. The interior was not inspected.
