Description
No. 3 Church Street, also known as Church House, is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a slate roof with a stack at the east end. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range. Notable architectural details include a raised plinth, a band that steps over the ground floor windows, and a coved eaves cornice.
The first floor has three pairs of 8-pane sash windows set in raised bead-moulded surrounds, while the ground floor features two 16-pane sash windows on either side of the entrance door, which is framed by a raised chamfered surround and topped with a pediment supported by brackets. The entrance has a 20th-century four-panel door, and there are two small 20th-century inserted lights flanking the right side ground floor window.
