Description
The Vicarage, located on Church Street, is probably from the mid-19th century and stands two storeys tall. It is constructed of ashlar with a slate roof. The south front is asymmetrical, featuring a section on the left that projects forward under a gable, which has coping and a finial. There is a small crow-stepped gable above the central entrance. The building has three windows, consisting of one, two, and three lights, all with square heads beneath drip moulds. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. The central doorway is 4-centred and has a moulded arch, with double doors that have two panels each and tracery in the fanlight above.
The Vicarage is part of a group of listed buildings on Church Street, which includes the Chantry, Little Chantry, Barton Orchard, and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More on Market Street, along with Nos 7 and 9 to 19 Barton Orchard, Nos 5 and 6, and 27 to 31 (consecutive), as well as the wall at Newtown.
