Description
The wall to the east and north of the vicarage grounds is likely from the mid-19th century. It separates the vicarage grounds from the churchyard and is constructed of rubble with ashlar capping. The wall is approximately 3 to 4 feet high at the southern end, where it meets the vicarage drive, and rises to about 8 feet as it runs north. It then turns west to connect with the terrace of the Chantry, decreasing in height to around 3 feet. Before the wall turns west towards the Chantry, there is a single 4-centred archway with a wooden door that faces the church. This wall is part of a group of listed buildings that includes the Chantry, Little Chantry, Barton Orchard, and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More, along with several other properties on Barton Orchard and Newtown.
