Description

The Rogers Monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 8 meters south of the organ chamber of the Church of St. Thomas. It dates from the mid to later 18th century and is constructed from ashlar stone. The tomb features two shield plaques on each side, with a fielded center, angle piers, and a moulded cornice that has a pulvinated frieze that breaks forward over the piers. On the south side, there is an inscription commemorating M. Rogers, who died in 1760, and W. Rogers Sr, who died in 1763.
