Description
No. 17 High Street is a cottage located at the end of a row, dating from the 17th century. Originally timber-framed, it has been rebuilt in English bond brick and sits on a rubble stone plinth. The roof is covered with asbestos slate and features gable end brick stacks. The cottage is two stories high with two windows on the front. There is a six-panelled door to the right of the center, with a three-light casement window on either side. On the first floor, there are two 2-light casement windows. The left side of the building has some exposed timber-frame and projects forward from the street frontage of the row. The right side is constructed in English garden wall bond brick. At the rear, there is a gabled timber-framed wing on the left, with an outshut and an attic dormer to the right.
