Description

Sundial House is a detached house dating to approximately 1830. It is constructed of limestone ashlar with a double Roman tiled roof, cropped gable end stone stacks, and coped verges. The house is two storeys high with a two-window front. A central six-panelled door is sheltered by an Ionic portico with a balustraded parapet, and there are four-pane sash windows either side. A plat band runs along the first floor. The windows are predominantly four-pane sashes. The right return elevation has a four-pane sash on the ground floor and a sixteen-pane sash above. At the rear, a former carriage house, now used as a kitchen, incorporates a casement window where a larger opening previously existed, with a four-pane sash window on the first floor. The building served as the Baptist Chapel until the mid-19th century.
