Description

St Anne's Cottage is a detached cottage dating to the mid-17th century, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with tension bracing, partly rendered, and has a pantiled roof with a half-hip to the right and a brick stack to the left. The house has two bays and a two-storey, two-window west front. A recessed 20th-century door is located to the left, with a three-light casement window to the right. The first floor of this elevation is rendered and has two two-light casement windows. The left return is largely exposed timber frame, showing jowled main posts on padstones, with a 20th-century planked door flanked by two-light casement windows, and a single casement window to the first floor. The rear elevation also shows exposed timber framing and has a mix of single-light and two-light casement windows on both ground and first floors; the first floor has two two-light and one single-light casement windows. Inside, the timber frame is exposed, featuring deep chamfered beams. The open fireplace at the south end has a chamfered cambered lintel resting on stone jambs.
