Description
Rosenheim Farmhouse is a late 17th-century farmhouse that was altered in the mid-20th century. It is built of English bond brick on a rubble stone plinth, topped with a wavy tiled roof and features a brick axial stack. The building is two stories high and has a three-window range typical of the 17th century. The central ledged door, which has original iron fittings, is set within a mid-20th-century gabled porch. On either side of the door are three-light hollow-chamfered mullioned casements with hoodmoulds. There is a two-brick plat band at the first floor level, with three-light mullioned casements flanking a central two-light mullioned casement, and the eaves are raised.
To the right of the farmhouse is a two-story extension from the 19th century, which has two-light and three-light casements and was recently used as a dairy. The right side of the building features a planked door. At the rear, there is a single-storey kitchen extension from the 19th century, with two-light casements on the main range. The interior was not accessible during the survey in May 1986, but it is reported to have open fireplaces and chamfered beams. In front of the farmhouse, there are 19th-century cast-iron railings with spear heads.
