Description
No 9 on St Anne's Street, which includes No 97A Brown Street, is an early 19th-century building featuring three storeys of white brick. It has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with flat eaves. The building showcases yellow rubbed flat arches above recessed sash windows, which retain their glazing bars. There are three windows on the second floor, two windows and a central panel on the first floor, and two windows with a central entrance on the ground floor. The entrance door consists of six fielded panels, two of which are glazed, and is adorned with a radiating and wreathed fanlight set in a tall panelled reveal. The doorcase features a moulded architrave with corner blocks and a small moulded cornice. The return front to Brown Street (No 97A) is similar, with two windows, one of which has been converted into a door. Nos 9 and 11 form a group.
