Description
Squirrel Cottage, Mrs Rees' Cottage, and Yeoman Cottage are a row of three dwellings that were originally two cottages, later expanded to four, and date back to the 17th century. The buildings are constructed of rendered flint, stone, and brick, topped with thatched roofs. They are two storeys high, with one part being a single storey with an attic. Each cottage originally had a living room with a narrow partitioned room and a stack at the end wall. The cottage on the right, known as Squirrel Cottage, features a lean-to extension beyond the stack. The central two cottages have been combined, while the left cottage has a weatherboarded and thatched lean-to added beyond the gable stack, likely from the late 19th century. The roofs are hipped over the lean-tos. There are thatched porches on the central and left cottages, and the right cottage has a glazed porch with a tiled roof. The windows are timber with panes, and there are three flush dormers. Additionally, there are various flat-roofed extensions at the rear.
