Description
This is a 18th-century barn range located by the roadside to the north of Lower Hill House in North Wraxall. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features stone tiled roofs, coped gables, and saddlestones. The main barn has lean-to structures with opposed cart entries, and to the right of the entry, there are lean-to stables that continue on the west side. At the northwest corner, there is a range of open stalls with a hipped west gable, which has been infilled with concrete block. Additionally, at the northeast corner, there is a 19th-century horse engine house with a canted east end and a hipped stone tile roof. The main barn has a five-bay roof supported by tie-beam-collar trusses, and the lower range at the south end features a coped south gable. The barn was proposed for conversion to houses in 1985.
