Description

1 New Road is a late 17th century cottage that is part of a row of similar buildings. It has one storey plus attics and features two gables. The structure is built from rubble with ashlar dressings and has a stone-tiled roof that extends to the eaves between the gables. There are two windows in the gables, which are paired casements with moulded surrounds, a dividing mullion, and square-headed dripmoulds. On the ground floor, there are two similar windows, one with three lights and the other with one light. The doorway is plain and rectangular. This cottage is part of a group that includes Nos 1 to 13 (odd).
