Description

CHURCH STREET SU 03 NW WYLYE (north side) 2/109 Three Locke monuments between 1.5 and 4 metres south of nave of Church of St. Mary GV II Two chest tombs and one body tomb. Late C17 to late C18. Limestone. Body tomb with low relief carving of fleur de lys at west end, to John Locke died 1696. North of chest tombs has plinth, two fielded panels to main sides, moulded flat top; to Charles Locke died 1731. South chest tomb has plinth, two recessed panels to main sides, fielded pilasters and fluted frieze with rosettes to flat top, Richard Locke died 1793.
