Description

East Mill is a corn mill that was later converted into a power station and is now a semi-detached house. It dates back to the 18th century and was transformed into a power station by the Southern Tannery Company in 1929, remaining operational until 1973. The building is constructed of English and Flemish bond brick and features a tiled roof with a brick stack. It is two stories high with six windows across the front. The ground floor includes 20th-century garage doors, while the first floor has a 20th-century door to the right that leads up steps, along with two 20th-century windows. There is a stepped eaves cornice along the roofline. At the rear, there is a 20th-century stable door, as well as two-light and four-light casements, and a hipped dormer with a two-light casement in the roof. The interior has not been inspected.
