Description
This is a barn located to the east of Surrendell Farmhouse, dating from the 17th century with later alterations and additions. It is built of coursed rubble with ashlar stone at the midstreys, featuring wooden lintels and a gabled stone slate roof. The barn is a long structure attached to the east end wall of the farmhouse. The south front has two midstreys with half-hipped roofs, and between them is a lean-to outshut that includes a plank door and three-light casements. There are steps leading up to a loft on the left side, which has a partially glazed plank door, along with two additional casements in this section. Inside, the barn retains its original roof structure, which consists of butt-purlins, collars, and tie-beams across 11 bays.
