Description

The cottages at 55, 56 and 57 on the A419 date from the 18th and 19th centuries. They were originally designed as a symmetrical pair, with a central chimney stack. The construction incorporates brick, with diaper brickwork on the ground floor of number 57, and some flint to the rear. The roofs are thatched, with the right-hand roof half-hipped. Number 57 retains a boarded door and two-light iron frame windows. A blue brick band runs along the first floor level, and there are four S-ties. The first-floor windows are leaded. Number 55 has a one-bay extension to the left, featuring two-light iron windows, a boarded door, and a left-gable stack.
