Description
Old Farm Cottage is a semi-detached house dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of limestone ashlar and dressed stone, topped with a pantiled roof and features gable end brick stacks. The two-storey main section has four windows and includes a blocked stone chamfered doorway to the left of the center, with a 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement on either side. There is a plat band at the first floor, which has one single light and three 2-light mullioned casements.
Attached to the right is a slightly earlier building that features a door with six fielded panels and a transom light, set within an elliptically-arched cast iron porch decorated with guilloche. To the right, there are 3-light leaded casements on both the ground and first floors. The left return has an external stack, a blocked single light to the right, and a single recessed chamfered light in the attic, with a coped verge. The rear of the building has similar windows. Inside, it is said to have chamfered beams and a bolection-moulded fireplace in the south room.
