Description

The Todd monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 5 meters east-north-east of the Cole monument and north of the north aisle of the Church of St. Bartholomew. It dates from the later 18th century and is constructed of ashlar stone. The tomb features two rectangular plaques separated by a framed fluted panel and has fluted angle balusters. It has a moulded base and cornice, which is broken forward at the center and at the angles. The south side of the monument bears an inscription dedicated to W. Todd, a coachman, and B. Dickinson Esq. of Monks, who died in 1783.
