Description
The building at 15-17 Long Street comprises two distinct properties, Nos 15 and 16, and No 17. Nos 15 and 16 have a late 18th-century stucco front applied to an earlier timber-framed structure. The building is three storeys tall and has oversailing upper floors with moulded boxed beam ends. It is roofed with slate. The front elevation features two windows on the upper floors, with a false central window on the first floor. A six-panel door is situated on the left-hand side, set within a shallow angular bay containing a six-pane window. The right-hand side of the ground floor has a four-panel door and another angular bay with a window. No 17 is an early 19th-century building constructed of ashlar Bath stone, with a projecting plinth. It has banded rustication on the ground floor, with strings marking the first and second floor levels. A small stone eaves cornice tops the slate roof. The front has two windows to the upper floors, one window on the ground floor, and a four-panel door with a plain arched fanlight and surround on the right-hand side. All windows are topped with keystones and have altered glazing. Nos 8 to 30 form a group.
