Description

The Howse monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard about 2 meters north of the first buttress of the north aisle of the Church of St. Bartholomew. It dates from the mid-18th century and features two oval plaques on each side, a fielded center, and angle strips. The tomb has a moulded base and cornice, with a pulvinated frieze that is broken forward at the angles and center. The south side includes an inscription dedicated to Jane Howse, who died in 1758.
