Description

38 and 39 The Green are a pair of estate cottages built in the early 19th century. They feature a squared limestone facade and a slate roof. Each cottage is two storeys high and consists of two bays with end lean-tos. There is a central shared passage with a door, and the cottages have boarded doors set within 20th-century porches on the inner bays. The ground floor windows are made of steel from the 20th century, while the first floor has timber casement windows dating from the late 19th century. Gable stacks are present on the roof. Above the central door, there is a recessed arched panel that contains a lobed vase in relief.
