Description
The Manor House is a boys' preparatory school built in the late 19th century and extended in the early 20th century, designed in an early to mid 17th century style. It is constructed from limestone ashlar with a tile roof and features two storeys and an attic, comprising nine bays with a wing on the left and a small wing on the right. The central porch has been remodelled in the 20th century, featuring a segmental pediment at the front and triangular pediments on the sides, along with corner ball finials. The building has cross windows with stone mullions and transoms, and there is a large three-light mullioned and transomed window on the left wing. Seven dormers with wooden mullions display alternate segmental and triangular pediments. The roof of the central section is hipped with wooden modillion eaves, while the modillions on the left wing are smaller. The chimneys are adorned with moulded strings and cappings.
