Description

The gate piers at the north-east entrance to Corsham Park date from the early 18th century and are constructed of ashlar stone. They consist of a pair of large rusticated piers topped with corniced caps and ball finials that feature acanthus decoration. Each pier has raised gatestops with moulded caps and a scroll above. Flanking the main piers are steeply ramped rusticated walls that lead down to smaller rusticated outer piers, which also have corniced caps and pineapple finials.
