Description

This is a mid-18th century chest tomb located about 1 metre north of the tower of the Church of the Holy Cross in the churchyard. It is made of ashlar stone and features a projecting rectangular fielded plaque surrounded by an egg-and-dart border. The tomb has fielded panels on each side, a moulded base, and a moulded cornice that includes a pulvinated frieze, which is broken forward over the plaque. The end plaques also project forward and have egg-and-dart borders, with the frieze and cornice embellished above the plaques.
