Description
The lychgate located to the south of the Church of St Margaret dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of timber and features a deeply overhanging stone slate roof adorned with cusped barge boards. The structure is framed by four posts, each with curved brackets on both faces, creating an arch on the north and south sides. There are six tie-beam trusses, each supported by a pair of opposed curved struts. On either side of the lychgate, there is a squared rubble stone wall that is coped and extends approximately 4 meters north into the churchyard.
