Description
A row of five cottages, now forming four dwellings, was built in the later 18th century. The cottages are constructed of rubble stone with a slate roof, a coped north gable, end wall, and three ridge stacks. They are two storeys high. The windows are flush and have cyma-moulded mullions. The original layout included a one-window-range cottage, now incorporated into number 2. This cottage retains two-light windows, with a hoodmould over the lower window and a removed mullion; a blocked door is visible on the left side. Number 2 has a two-window-range with two-light windows, again with a hoodmould over the lower window and a removed mullion, and a cyma-moulded flush doorway. Numbers 4, 6, and 8 each have an upper two-light window and a ground-floor three-light window with a dripstone, along with a doorway. A sash window has been inserted at number 6 where a three-light window once stood. Number 4 features a chamfered stone doorcase. Numbers 6 and 8 have timber lintels above their doorways.
